Parking Enforcement

An Important Role...

Parking regulations are meant to keep vehicles off the street so that street sweeping services can be more effective. Other parking regulations include red curb violations, parking too close to a fire hydrant or a handicap-access curb, and unauthorized handicap zone parking. The Parking Enforcement staff enforces these regulations and also assists in towing vehicles that are inoperable, have expired registration tags or five or more unpaid citations.

For more information regarding parking laws and enforcement, go HERE.

Vehicles parked on the street on a regularly scheduled street sweeping day will be cited. The current fine is $39.00 (Long Beach Municipal Code M10.22.140).

Payment

Payment of a street sweeping parking citation is required within 21 days of the issuance date. Failure to pay a Notice of Violation will result in an increase in the amount due, and may result in a hold placed against the vehicle registration or further legal action.
