Composting Bins
The City of Long Beach has three types of backyard composting bins available for residents to purchase at a reduced price. Come to a workshop on the 3rd Saturday of each month to learn all about them and purchase one to take home. Or you call the Recycling Hotline at 570-2876 to schedule payment and delivery. Then start composting and reduce your waste by up to 25%!

The Presto Composter — Temporarily unavailable Price: $10.50 The presto is a plastic cylinder with an adjustable diameter of 1-3 feet. It is constructed from a sheet of recycled post-consumer plastic. Organic material is placed in the top and is easily harvested by pulling the cylinder off the compost material. The Presto holds approximately 17.6 cubic feet of material, and does not come with a lid. |

The Earth Machine The Earth Machine is UV treated, and made from 50% post consumer recycled material. The Earth Machine stands 33 inches high and is 33 inches in diameter at the base. It is lightweight (only 15 lbs.), durable and easy to assemble. To retrieve finished compost utilize the convenient harvest door. |

The Soil Saver The Soil Saver is made from 50% recycled content, durable polyethylene plastic. Efficient square design, ideal for all backyards. Bin has 2 slide up doors for easy compost removal; 4 sides are interchangeable. The Soil Saver measures 28”W x 28”D x 32”H and holds 11.5 cubic feet of material. 25 Year Manufacturer Warranty. |
